US Commercial Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a US Commercial Manager to support commercial delivery of projects, primarily Elevated Risk Activities.

Position can be based in most US GHD office locations. Supports a hybrid work model: three days a week in office.

• Provide consistent commercial, risk, and contract management leadership to support GHD’s governance throughout the project life cycle.
• Assist in positioning GHD to undertake services, including supporting Legal Counsel in preparing teaming, partnering, and joint‑venture agreements.
• Collaborate with Legal Counsel, Operations Manager, and stakeholders to agree on commercial and risk mitigation strategies.
• Participate in Tender Review Group (TRG) and gateway approvals as required, including preparing briefing presentations and regional guidance notes.
• Prepare guides to help teams manage contract/commercial risks on master services or panel agreements.
• Deliver commercial and contract management training to GHD personnel.
• Assist with financial modelling for commercial offers to clients.
• Undertake Commercial Health Checks and other commercial reviews per procedures.

• Undergraduate degree (advanced degree preferred) in a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in successful project delivery or corporate governance in professional services/construction contracting.
• Strong commercial and legal acumen.
• Detailed understanding of commercial frameworks for construction contractors, government, quasi‑government, and private‑sector clients.
• Extensive experience negotiating commercial contracts and managing commercial aspects of projects.
• Commercially astute with sound business acumen.
