Project Engineer 1

The Project Engineer 1 is responsible for assisting in the overall operation and execution of Clauger projects to ensure standards are met in terms of schedule, quality, safety, and financial expectations. Effective communication, organization, and proactive planning skills are required.

• Set up projects financial management systems including the project budget.
• Establish insurance requirements of the project and submit applications.
• Communicate and evaluate the developed project specifications.
• Distribute and conduct a general review of project drawings and documents.
• Estimate, communicate, and plan for required field resources.
• Manage and utilize various project management and communication software to meet project objectives.
• Review and understand project specifications and drawings.
• Assist in project meetings including kickoff meetings, design and control coordination, subcontractor and labor planning coordination, client meetings, line‑break review, pump‑down planning, and other employee safety meetings.
• Maintain project documentation and control: submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, purchasing logs, and action item management.
• Understand project contractual requirements and scope.
• Secure construction permits for the project (when applicable and required).
• Ensure all project deliverables are met and track project objectives, assessing responsibility to associated parties internally and externally.

• Bid, buyout, and ensure accuracy of purchase orders and subcontracts.
• Complete material takeoffs and perform budget vs. actual cost analysis.
• Plan budget management, contract change orders, monthly project invoicing, monthly financial projection, and internal revenue transfers.

• Act as onsite representative for the construction execution team.
• Coordinate and manage the project team to achieve all project deliverables.
• Provide clear scope and schedule management to the field team.
• Coordinate all other internal business unit scopes.
• Run project meetings, including kickoff meetings, design and control coordination, subcontractor meetings, and other relevant meetings.
• Assist with project reporting duties: weekly project updates, labor tracking, schedule revisions, open cost and vendor invoicing, and monthly customer progress reports.
• Assist with project closeout duties: punch list management, final record documents, operation and maintenance manuals/spare parts list, warranty statement and documents, substantial completion documents, general contract and subcontract lien releases, follow‑up quality control meeting, and customer training.

• Proficient in cloud‑based project management software.
• Proficient in MS Project or similar program.
• Architectural, design, engineering, technical, or construction background is advantageous.
• Read, analyze, and interpret architectural and engineering drawings is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Must be able to travel as needed, anticipated 15% travel or onsite location.

• Must comply with Clauger, OSHA, and site safety requirements.
