Psychiatrist

Location: Hines

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within 4 months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (1 to 5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

* Offers psychiatric treatment using traditional face-to-face or telehealth modalities to Veteran patients

* provides assessments and interventions which are appropriate to the needs of the Veteran

* Supervises and educates psychiatric residents and medical students, attends required administrative meetings

* serves as the on-call psychiatrist on designated weeknight and weekends on a rotating basis

* coordinates with other providers to effectively facilitate services

* complies with all CPRS documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper patient check out procedures (e.g. entering diagnostic and procedure codes)

* Supports VHA mental health priorities such as suicide prevention, opioid harm reduction and safety, the whole health paradigm, same day access for care, evidence-based care, and the Recovery Model of care.

* Supports the mission of the VA by ensuring the highest quality of care for our Veterans by assisting in the execution of ongoing program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects

* complying with national and local performance measures including timely health care screening and completion of clinical reminders for all patients, complying with mental health peer review procedures, participating in other committee assignments as requested.

* Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, Monday through Friday

Pay:
Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
