- Hours:
36 hours per week
- Student Age Group: K to 3
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.
- Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching methods based on individual student needs.
- Provide specialized instruction in accordance with students' IEPs.
- Create a supportive classroom environment that promotes academic and social development.
- Create, implement, and manage IEPs for assigned students.
- Develop measurable academic, behavioral, and developmental goals based on student needs.
- Monitor progress toward IEP goals and maintain appropriate documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate student progress with families and relevant team members.
- Ensure services and accommodations are provided as outlined in each student's IEP.
- Conduct and utilize assessments to identify student strengths, needs, and areas for growth.
- Regularly monitor academic, social, emotional, and behavioral progress.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
- Adjust instructional strategies and interventions based on assessment results and student progress.
- Work closely with general education teachers to support students in inclusive educational settings.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS I) endorsement.
- Must be authorized to provide special education services to K-3 students in Illinois.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with disabilities is preferred.
- Experience developing and managing IEPs, conducting assessments, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams is preferred.
