Overview
We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Hodgkins, IL.
Responsibilities- Completing repair activities on generators or components
- Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of service
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
- Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities
- High Voltage / Low Voltage experience
- Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products
- Basic Diesel Engine experience
- Proficient troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components
- Able to perform repairs on ATS systems and able to perform commissioning on a new ATS installation
Base:
Salary rate commensurate with experience. Apprentice Certified Power Generation/Electrical Technician (Preferred), Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution, Current relevant electrical certification, Locally valid driving permit. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
ExperienceBasic level field service work experience, intermediate knowledge of and experience with power generation products, high voltage/low voltage experience, and customer service experience.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications- Technical school training or certification in diesel technology, electrical systems, or power generation
- Familiarity with ATS systems, paralleling applications, or advanced generator control systems (e.g., Power Command, Deep Sea, ASCO)
- A current valid license is required for this role
- Must be 18 years old with 2 years driving experience
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
