Job Summary: Technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute complex repairs to generators and components at the customer’s site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establishes and continually develops productive customer relations and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete complex repairs at customer site.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.
  • Escalates unresolved issues to product specialists or supervisor.
  • Coaches and develops technicians and/or apprentices, transfers knowledge, provides work direction, and reviews repair plans and parts lists.
  • Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
  • Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensures adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies and reports incidents to site management and supervisor.
  • Develops and delivers clear, multi‑mode communications to meet the needs of different audiences.
  • Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer‑centric solutions.
  • Develops talent to meet both career goals and organizational goals.
  • Manages complexity by synthesizing large amounts of information to solve problems.
  • Handles conflict situations effectively.
  • Actively seeks growth through formal and informal development channels.
  • Champions proactive health and safety behaviors and contributes to an injury‑free workplace.
  • Translates customer complaints to develop troubleshooting plans; troubleshoots issues using guided workflows, specialized tools, and diagnostic software; validates repairs; documents results in business systems.
  • Identifies appropriate hardware and software tools, utilizes electronic service tool sets, and interprets tool results to determine next steps.
  • Interprets and analyzes the interactions of internal and external electrical and mechanical systems using tools, service publications, and measurements to diagnose and repair.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Cummins and industry standards, complies with safe work procedures, and applies tools to diagnose and repair power generation system operations.
  • Repairs and maintains mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, uses required tools, disassembles and assembles engines or generators, inspects and replaces parts, and performs progressive damage checks.
  • Creates and verifies customer, equipment, and technical information; captures data with service tools; documents required information in the service management system.
  • Obtains product technical issue information, utilizes resources, escalates issues as needed, and records troubleshooting steps to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Recognizes the value of diverse perspectives and cultures.
