Machine Design Engineer

Aegis is partnered with a well-established custom equipment manufacturer is seeking a Senior Machine Design Engineer to lead the design of highly customized packaging and container handling machinery. This is a senior-level, high-ownership role created through internal promotion and long-term succession planning.

You’ll design engineered-to-order automated machinery — not catalog products — and own projects from concept through release. The work is technical, varied, and directly tied to real machine builds on the shop floor.

• Lead mechanical design of custom automated machinery
• Own projects from concept through detailed design and release
• Create large assemblies, drawings, and BOMs in 3D CAD
• Design motion-driven systems using pneumatics and servo mechanisms
• Ensure manufacturability and performance requirements are met
• Troubleshoot and improve existing machine designs
• Partner with manufacturing, controls, and project teams

• 8+ years in custom machine or packaging equipment design
• Strong conveyor or motion equipment background
• Advanced 3D CAD experience (Solid Works or Inventor)
• OEM or engineered-to-order machinery experience
• Comfortable working independently on complex designs

• Labeling, filling, cartoning, or case packing exposure
