What you’ll do:
  • HELOC Underwriter will maintain a pipeline of Bank HELOC loan transactions with the expectation of completing 3+ new decisions per day while maintaining 48-hour turn time on resubmissions for final approval.

  • Update underwriting approvals, validate approval data, clear alerts in fraud detection tool, and complete reviews in accordance with loan policy to mitigate risk for the bank.

  • Communicate loan decisions and approval conditions to Loan Processors, Consumer Lenders, Closers, and Management.

  • Request loan policy and guideline exception requests.

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years loan underwriting.

  • Must be resourceful in utilizing tools and information that is available.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.

  • Ability to accurately determine income for wage earners, self-employed borrowers, and experience with corporate returns.

  • Experience reviewing appraisals.

  • Strong organizational skills as well as excellent verbal (including phone etiquette) and phone and written communication.

  • Positive “can do” attitude with a strong focus on internal and external customer service.

  • Proactive approach when dealing with challenging situations/loans and resolution focused.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment & handle multiple personality types in a calm and professional manner.

  • Proficient in MS Office including Excel and Word

  • Advanced Computer Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $59,000-$77,000. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and experience.
