Scope of Role
Reporting to the VP of Investor relations, the Investor Relations Specialist III will serve as a key resource for the Investor Relations (IR) team, acting as the first point of contact for investors and supporting relationship‑building efforts. This role will involve inbound inquiries, conducting introductory calls to provide basic company information, and ensuring timely, accurate responses to investor questions regarding products, business segments, and financial performance.
The successful candidate will become an expert on the organization, cultivate relationships with investors, and represent the company’s perspective in all interactions.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly earnings reports, including gathering a wide variety of information related to company performance and operations, and assist in the preparation of earnings materials, including press releases, earnings call slides, earnings call Q&A files, and earnings call scripts.
Assist in preparing for investor marketing trips and events, including coordinating schedules with third parties, collecting and presenting background information on investors we will be meeting, preparing marketing materials used at conferences, which can include slide presentations, scripts, and Q&A files.
Track analyst estimates for company performance across all relevant P&L metrics.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly IR submissions to the BOD, including detailed data on investor buy/sell activity, stock valuation, and past and planned marketing activities.
Maintain a detailed operational performance model for company operations, which is updated at least quarterly.
Assist in responding to investor inquiries, which can span operation and financial performance as well as information on the company’s product and technologies. This tends to involve working with the relevant business(es) to gather and vet the required information.
Assist in preparing presentation materials and coordinating logistics for ad hoc events, which can be substantial undertakings - such as investor days and investor site visits.
Form an enterprise-wide network, spanning accounting, finance, and FP&A as well as relevant product teams to efficiently gather information about the company.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, BA or related field.
5-7 years’ experience in Finance or Accounting related roles.
IR analyst will need to have and/or develop in-depth knowledge of the Company’s products, markets, financial results, growth and margin strategy, and relevant competitors.
Strong proficiency with financial statements and accounting principles to assist in conducting financial statement analysis and responding to investor questions about past and prospective financial performance.
Basic understanding of financial valuation principals and methodologies, including discounted cash flow and valuation multiples analysis.
Good writing and editing skills.
Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
Strong attention to detail. Information prepared for external distribution must be accurate and presented in a clear, well organized, and easy to understand manner.
Strong organizational skills. Ability to stay organized when working with large amounts of data or information, including when under deadline pressure.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience in an Investor Relations related role.
Master’s degree in accounting or MBA preferred.
An interest in the stock market and stock trading.
Natural curiosity that will motivate the analyst to gain familiarity with and stay current on relevant developments related to the company’s products, technologies, and markets.
Availability and willingness to work outside of normal business hours on an as needed basis.
Ability to work under deadline pressure and to be able to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
Comfort level working with and responding to inquiries from our most senior executives and large shareholders.
Manufacturing experience is a plus.
