We are currently looking to fill a CCBHC Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC)role at our
Merrionette Park
office.
SALARY: The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $58,000
and$65,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.
$2,500 Sign-on Bonus for first-time employees with MFS! ($1,250 on the first paycheck and $1,250 after 6 months of employment).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to diagnose substance use disorders, evaluate clients' readiness for treatment. and determine the appropriate American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) level of care.
- Clinical Counseling:
Facilitate intensive outpatient (IOP) andoutpatientindividual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based practices like Motivational Interviewing and CBT. - Educate clients and their families about addiction, treatment options, and recovery strategies.
- Person-Centered Planning:
Develop and update individualized treatment plans that integrate physical health and mental health goalsin accordance with Illinois CCBHC standards . - Medication-Assisted Recovery (MAR):
Coordinate with medical staff to support clients receiving medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) and other FDA-approved treatments. - Crisis Intervention:
Provide immediate support and de-escalation for clients experiencing overdose risk or acute withdrawal. - Provide case management and aftercare planning to support long‑term recovery.
- Care Coordination:
Collaborate withthe CCBHC treatment team, external providers, courts, and probation officers to support the client’s continuum of care. - Documentation:
Maintaintimelyandaccurateelectronic health records (EHR) in compliance with 42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA standards. - Effectively work with diverse staff and service population.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) credential in good standing with the Illinois Certification Board,
required. - High School Diploma/GED,
required. - Minimum of 2,000 to 4,000 hours of supervised work experience in an addictions setting (depending on degree level),
required. - Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records,
required. - Knowledge of ASAM criteria for substance use disorder triage,
required. - Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field is strongly preferred to meet MHP/QMHP status,
preferred. - Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CRADC),
preferred. - 6,000 hours of supervised work (reduced with a college degree).
- Specialized training in services for adolescents/families (30 hours) and women/families (30 hours),
preferred. - Passing the IC&RC Alcohol and Drug Counseling (ADC) examination,
preferred
. - Certified Advanced Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CAADC),
