Location: Rosemont

The Region Human Resources Business Partner (RHRBP) partners with Hydro’s leadership to deliver HR strategy across multiple manufacturing sites, supporting both unionized and non-union facilities. This onsite role in the Rosemont, IL area spans plants in several states and focuses on alignment between HR priorities and operational goals.

Working closely with GMs, senior leadership, plant managers, and local HR teams, you will lead workforce planning, labor relations, compliance, talent management, and organizational development while monitoring HR performance through clear metrics.

What you’ll do
  • Support the VP of Human Resources in executing the company’s HR vision and strategy.
  • Lead HR initiatives across multiple locations to keep priorities aligned with business goals.
  • Partner with plant and HR leadership to drive workforce planning, succession planning, and improvements to organizational structure.
  • Lead and monitor HR KPIs at assigned plants to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

  • At unionized plants, oversee union negotiations, grievance handling, and contract compliance.
  • Serve as a strategic partner in labor relations, ensuring consistency in collective bargaining agreement (CBA) interpretation across locations.
  • At non-union sites, develop and execute union-avoidance strategies while maintaining positive employee relations.
  • Lead workplace investigations, HR and compliance audits, and risk mitigation to support legal and HR compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Lead talent acquisition strategies so staffing levels match production demands.
  • Lead succession planning and leadership development programs, including coaching plant HR teams on talent pipeline management.
  • Assess and support local plant HR team development to ensure HR capabilities match business needs.
  • Implement standardized training and career development frameworks across the region.
  • Drive HR process improvement initiatives and benchmark best practices across locations.
  • Align HR technology and systems with business needs, improving efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Manage HR budgets and resources to optimize HR function performance across sites.
  • Drive employee engagement, inclusivity programs, and culture-building initiatives across the region.
  • Act as a change agent during organizational restructures and workforce transitions.
  • Lead HR compliance audits to support risk management across locations.
  • Provide guidance to plant HR teams on proactive policies that address labor trends, legislation, and best practices.
What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including 2+ years in a unionized setting.
  • Experience in collective bargaining, workforce planning, HR compliance, and talent management.
  • Certification in: SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR, Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP), or other union/labor relations certifications (a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws including NLRA, FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, and ADA
    , plus CBA interpretation.
  • Strong experience in union labor relations, collective bargaining, grievance resolution, and multi-state compliance.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and timekeeping software (e.g.,
    Success Factors
    , UKG/Ulti Pro
    ) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze HR metrics to identify trends and drive process improvements.
  • Expertise in talent management, workforce planning, and performance coaching.
  • Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environments while balancing priorities.
  • Proactive, data-driven problem-solving approach.
  • English required
