IT Infrastructure & Cloud Manager – AWS / Microsoft 365 Rosemont, IL | Hybrid | Full-Time
Our nonprofit client is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Cloud Manager – AWS / Microsoft 365 to lead its infrastructure, cloud, and end-user technology operations.
This is a highly visible,
hands-on player-coach leadership role requiring recent, production-level experience administering both AWS and Microsoft 365
. The ideal candidate combines strong technical infrastructure expertise with proven people leadership and enjoys remaining actively involved in cloud infrastructure, Microsoft 365 administration, networking, systems, troubleshooting, and IT service delivery.
The organization supports approximately 190 employees across local, remote, and international locations
. This individual will lead a small, experienced infrastructure team while helping maintain a reliable, secure, scalable, and well-supported technology environment.
- Lead, coach, and develop a technical infrastructure team consisting of a Senior Systems Administrator and two Systems Administrators
- Oversee day-to-day IT infrastructure, cloud, systems administration, and end-user technology operations
- Remain hands-on technically
, assisting with administration, troubleshooting, escalations, and infrastructure initiatives - Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 production environments
, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, Entra , Intune, and related Microsoft services - Manage and optimize AWS production infrastructure
, including compute, storage, networking, IAM, backups, monitoring, resource optimization, and security best practices - Oversee network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, firewalls, and internet connectivity
- Manage physical office and server-room infrastructure, including servers, networking, storage, UPS, telecommunications, and conference-room/AV technology
- Oversee the internal Help Desk
, including ticketing, SLAs, escalations, coverage, and end-user support - Oversee hardware and software procurement, licensing, inventory, and IT asset lifecycle management
- Support backup, disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity initiatives
- Manage technology vendors, service providers, contracts, and infrastructure-related projects
- Assist with IT budgeting, invoicing, forecasting, cloud cost management, and technology cost optimization
- Partner with cybersecurity stakeholders to ensure security best practices are followed across cloud, infrastructure, network, identity, and endpoint environments
- Support Azure and other Microsoft cloud technologies as needed
- Coach and develop team members through performance management, training, regular feedback, and career development
- Partner with organizational leadership and internal stakeholders on technology needs, infrastructure planning, and strategic IT initiatives
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience
- 5+ years of people management or supervisory experience
, including experience coaching and developing technical employees - Experience personally working with AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, VPC/networking, monitoring, backups/disaster recovery, security, and resource optimization
- Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 technologies such as Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, Entra , and Intune
- Strong infrastructure and systems administration background
- Strong networking knowledge, including firewalls, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and network troubleshooting
- Experience managing or supporting physical IT and server-room infrastructure
- Experience leading infrastructure, systems administration, and/or end-user support teams
- Experience overseeing Help Desk operations, ticketing, SLAs, escalations, and end-user technology…
