WHAT WE LOOK FORThe Account Manager manages the overall client relationship by providing strategic advice on coverage, risk management, and business needs, ensuring the client’s insurance program aligns with long‑term goals and growth plans. The Account Manager stays knowledgeable of advances in the insurance business and stays abreast of types of insurance products available.
A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing guidance on coverage changes and contractual requirements, and educating on policy exclusions and exposures.
- Partner in the strategic development of insurance plans tailored to client needs.
- Act as a field underwriter and authorized representative of insurance carriers to assess and bind coverage as appropriate.
- Strategically manage remarketing of renewals to ensure high account retention rates.
- Oversee preparation of client proposals, including submissions, loss evaluations, and risk analyses, ensuring timely and accurate quotations and policies.
- Communicate billing and invoicing options.
- Prepare comprehensive summaries, binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other documents to support client needs.
- Assist clients in submitting first reports of claims by obtaining adjusters or arranging visits from the claims team.
- Facilitate prompt response from carriers and staff to expedite claim settlements.
- Conduct thorough policy reviews during renewals and audits, verifying accuracy and ensuring corrections.
- Proactively communicate significant audit discrepancies and determine further action.
- Review cancellation requests, determine reasons, and attempt to retain client accounts while maintaining financial integrity.
- Stay informed about industry developments, new products, legislation, coverage options, and technology to enhance knowledge and client services.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Identify and resolve complex client service issues quickly.
- Fully adopt innovative technology, including proprietary AI solutions, into the service process.
- Perform other projects, duties, and tasks as assigned.
- Property and Casualty license from state of domicile required; preference for individuals with insurance designations (AINS, CIC, CPCU, ARM).
- High School Diploma or equivalent; four‑year degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years account management experience in insurance industry, focusing on personal lines coverage.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus or required in some locations.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills for in‑person and teleconference/webinar sessions.
- In‑depth understanding of advanced personal lines coverage to advise clients on complex needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Computer literate with ability to learn new software.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of insurance markets, products, services, ratings, underwriting procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel to client sites.
- Competitive pay range: $44,000 – $80,000.
- Eligibility for a discretionary annual incentive program based on individual and organizational performance.
