A Brief Overview
The Analyst, Chemical Sourcing is a key contributor within the Sourcing organization, responsible for supporting chemical sourcing strategies through data analysis, supplier coordination, and execution of sourcing activities. This role partners cross-functionally to ensure continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements. The Analyst leverages procurement analytics, market insights, and supplier data to support strategic sourcing decisions and drive operational efficiency across the organization.
Whatyou will do
- Manage and support requests for chemical material quotes in alignment with sourcing strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Plant Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, Operations) to support raw material, supplier qualification and risk mitigation while managing source qualifications
- Monitor supplier performance, cost change impact analysis and market trends impacting chemical supply
- Manage and maintain supplier and material data within R&D Virtual Notebook for pricing, documentation, supplier assignments and update corresponding data and systems
- Support sourcing events and supplier bids: collect requirements, analyze quotes, and summarize recommendations
- Support pricing validation and compliance with sourcing agreements
- Support implementation of sourcing strategies and cost savings initiatives
- Conduct market research and benchmarking for chemical raw materials
- Assist in maintaining preferred supplier lists and sourcing documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within sourcing processes
- Provide backup support for sourcing activities during peak periods
- Some duties may vary slight by location
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience (Preferred)
- 1-3 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain with analytical responsibilities (Required)
- 1-3 years with ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SAP, Oracle, etc.) (Required)
- 1-3 years exposure to chemical/raw material sourcing, specifications, or supplier markets (Preferred)
- Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis) (High proficiency)
- Cross-functional collaboration and communication (High proficiency)
- Problem-solving and ability to manage multiple priorities (High proficiency)
- Understanding of chemical raw materials, specifications, or supply markets (Medium proficiency)
- Procurement analytics, spend analysis, and cost modeling (Medium proficiency)
- ERP systems and supplier/material data management (Medium proficiency)
- Supplier coordination and basic negotiation support (Medium proficiency)
