The Role at a Glance – Land Rover Hinsdale Shop Porter
Land Rover Hinsdale is expanding and investing in Technician talent. We have created the role of Shop Porter for aspiring technicians currently pursuing their technical training.
The Shop Porter role is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in getting their foot in the door of a busy shop and learning the foundations of becoming a successful technician.
Shop Porter revolves around assisting management and our Technicians in our Service Department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for learning the foundations of becoming a successful Technician.
What you’ll be doing- Transporting cars in/out of the shop for technicians.
- Assisting management and our technicians in our Service Department
- Maintaining the tool room and keeping special tools organized.
- Scraping tires.
- Performing light cleaning of the shop.
- Shuttling customers.
- Picking up/delivering cars.
- Racking cars.
- Washing vehicles.

- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical school/training preferred.
- Currently enrolled at UTI or another technical program with the goal of becoming an automotive technician.
- 1+ years of previous work experience.
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information. - Ability to handle machinery safely.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet insurability standards.
Knowledge of the automotive industry
