Pay: $22/hr.

Job Purpose

To perform loading/unloading of RJW trucks and outside carriers. Ensure all shipments are properly stored in the warehouse. Pick orders from warehouse inventory as directed by customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Loading/unloading truck/trailers safely and efficiently using proper procedures, including outside carrier equipment.
  • Picking and moving from 1 lb to 50 lb or more multiple times.
  • Ensure all documentation is properly completed.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and sales to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Proper storing of all inbound loads in the correct warehouse location.
  • Ensure all shipments are properly marked before storing/picking.
  • Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping.
  • Spotting of trailers to maintain efficient yard organization and flow of equipment into warehouse.
  • Coordinate paperwork with drivers after normal dispatch operations are finished for the day.
  • General maintenance of area surrounding warehouse.
  • Ensure trailers are swept clean of any debris when empty.
  • Ensure all shipments are correctly staged and loaded properly.
  • Process outbound freight/cross‑dock freight as necessary.
  • Operate stand‑up reach forklifts, cherry pickers, and some sit‑down forklift work.
  • Follow all safety procedures at all times.
  • Build pallets and break down stock.
  • Work in a fast‑paced warehouse.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Must know how to operate a forklift, cherry picker, and stand‑up reach forklift.
  • Good communication, problem resolution, and people skills.
  • Maintain orderly operation of warehouse.
Qualifications
  • 1 year forklift driving experience.
  • Certified forklift license.
Education and/or Experience Required
  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) preferred.
Language Skills
  • Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Compute rate, ratio, percent and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Determine root cause of problem and corrective action.
Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of business operating systems, internet software, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lb.
  • Operate phone systems using keyboards and buttons.
  • Articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Regularly work in an indoor/office environment, sit/ use repetitive hand motions.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, stand, and walk.
  • Work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Work under stressful situations, maintain work accuracy, concentrate on multiple tasks.
