Opportunity Overview
Location:
Western Illinois (On-site) - Relocation Expenses Fully Covered Compensation:
Hourly: $30-35/hr, x2 = $60 on overnight service calls, Could be $120- $145,000 / yearly based on hourly rate + benefits (based on qualifications), expenses paid on company card Travel: 60–75%

Full-Time Industry: Custom Capital Equipment / Food Processing Systems Our client is a privately held builder of custom food processing and automation systems with in-house engineering, fabrication, and controls. They deliver full-system integrations to processors across North America.
What You’ll Tackle Plan your day: review requirements, assemble parts and supplies, and organize tools for efficient service.
Install, service, and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical components.
Travel to customer facilities, hold the schedule, and keep stakeholders updated on any delays.
Cover emergency service needs during nights or weekends when required.
On arrival, document equipment status, test measurements, and photos.
Diagnose issues, secure replacement parts, calibrate to manufacturer recommendations, and clearly explain the problem and fix.
Engage in ongoing training on the latest technologies.
Identify upsell opportunities: new systems, service contracts, and additional services.
Resolve complaints and issues through site visits or remote (phone/computer) support.
Complete installations end-to-end: assess requirements, order/gather components, install, and perform acceptance tests.
Keep personal equipment running by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and doing preventive maintenance.
Create clear process documentation and timely service/installation reports.
Maintain confidentiality of service information.
Pursue educational opportunities to expand your skills.
Develop training documentation to help customers operate systems confidently.
Share knowledge with cross-functional teams across the organization.
Build lasting, positive relationships with customers.
Handle other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
What You Bring Ability to interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, plans, and manuals with high accuracy.
Experience working with 480
VAC, 3Ø in an Industrial environment.

Self-direction with a focus on doing it right the first time.

Strong collaborator who puts customer satisfaction first.
Flexible with shifts and responsive to changing schedules.
Willing to work overtime when needed.
Preferred Extras Experience in food processing, packaging, or sanitary equipment.
Background managing service contracts or after-sales support teams.
Preventive/predictive maintenance program knowledge.
Comfort using project management or ERP platforms.
Physical Reality of the Job Regular travel is expected.
Lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
Extended periods of sitting.
Drive a vehicle; must have a valid driver’s license and be physically able to drive.
Travel by car, train, and plane.
