The Industrial Cleaning Supervisor oversees daily cleaning operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. This role leads field personnel, coordinates with site management, and maintains high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities Staff Supervision & Leadership
  • Supervise, train, and schedule industrial cleaning personnel
  • Assign daily tasks and ensure adequate staffing for each shift
  • Monitor employee performance and provide coaching or corrective action
  • Enforce company policies, attendance standards, and work procedures
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and site-specific safety regulations
  • Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses
  • Enforce proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
Operational Oversight
  • Oversee execution of industrial cleaning activities (e.g., confined space cleaning, equipment washing, floor scrubbing, waste removal)
  • Verify cleaning tasks meet quality, timing, and client requirements
  • Coordinate cleaning operations with production, maintenance, or plant management
Quality Control
  • Inspect completed work to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met
  • Identify areas needing corrective action or rework
  • Maintain documentation of inspections and completed tasks
Equipment & Materials Management
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment and machinery
  • Request, inventory, and control cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and labeling of hazardous materials
Training & Development
  • Train team members on cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures
  • Ensure employees are certified or qualified for specialized tasks
  • Support onboarding new hires
Documentation & Reporting
  • Complete daily reports, safety logs, and work orders
  • Track labor hours, productivity, and job completion
  • Communicates progress, issues, and needs to management
Customer & Client Relations
  • Serve as point of contact for client or site management
  • Address concerns or service issues promptly and professionally
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through consistent, high-quality service
Planning & Scheduling
  • Plan work schedules based on operational demands and project timelines
  • Adjust staffing and priorities to meet changing site conditions
  • Support cost control and efficiency initiative
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of industrial cleaning experience
  • Previous experience leading or supervising cleaning crews is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Ability to enforce safety policies and conduct safety training
  • Properly use industrial cleaning chemicals and machinery
