Summary
The Quality Support Technician supports the operations team by providing a detailed and thorough inspection and cleaning of repaired vehicles prior to release to the customer. This role also assists shop operations by performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including cleaning and organizing equipment and tools.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Perform a thorough detailing and cleaning of all vehicles prior to final delivery to the customer.
- Visually inspect every vehicle for flaws in the repaired area and promptly notify the General Manager or assigned technician of any defects or issues.
- Assist in the general maintenance of the shop location and outside grounds.
- Inspect goods or products according to quality and safety standards.
- Ensure that test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
- Consistently use all required safety equipment, adhere to hazardous waste disposal requirements, and participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Maintain the proper function of all service tools and equipment in the detail department; keep personal work area organized and return tools, materials, and equipment to designated areas.
- Identify possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
- Perform cleaning activities such as mopping, dusting, sweeping, collecting and emptying trash cans daily; service, clean, and supply any items in restrooms.
- Make minor repairs when necessary, such as changing a light bulb.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
- Prior experience in the automotive industry is strongly preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal communication and mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to be flexible with task assignments and respond to the needs of the shop operations team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team to meet the objective of servicing the customer and vehicle.
