Maintenance Technician
Our customer in Rock City, IL is looking for a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on plant equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role supports production uptime, equipment integrity, and regulatory compliance by troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues and executing scheduled maintenance tasks in alignment with company standards.
Responsibilities:- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize production downtime.
- Complete work orders and document maintenance activities accurately within the maintenance tracking system.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
- Support root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures.
- Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, and sanitation standards during maintenance activities.
- Maintain tools, parts inventory, and work areas in an organized and safe condition.
- Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to ensure equipment performance meets production and compliance requirements.
- Participate in safety training and adhere to all OSHA and plant safety policies.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2–5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Technical Certification in Industrial Maintenance or related field, preferred.
- Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferred.
- Experience working in a food manufacturing or regulated production environment.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems, motors, and control panels.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts.
Starting at $35/hour.
