As a Specialist II, Maintenance Planning in our Phillips 66 refining organization, you will help keep our operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will be part of a high-performing maintenance team that turns technical needs into clear, executable plans for the field. In this role, you will coordinate work across disciplines, ensure every job is ready before it starts, and help drive continuous improvement in how we plan and execute maintenance.

What

You’ll Do
  • Develop and manage detailed maintenance plans and schedules for routine, corrective, and preventive work to minimize downtime and support safe, reliable operations.
  • Scope maintenance jobs by clarifying requirements, estimating labor and durations, identifying materials, tools, permits, and access needs, and preparing complete work packages.
  • Coordinate with operations, engineering, reliability, and contractor teams to prioritize work, resolve scope and resource conflicts, and sequence jobs for efficient execution.
  • Maintain accurate asset and work history data in systems such as SAP, updating task lists, bills of material, and documentation to reflect completed work and equipment changes.
  • Support planning for outages and turnarounds by building job plans, integrating them into master schedules, and aligning with safety, regulatory, and site standards.
  • Review work feedback, schedule adherence, and backlog drivers to identify trends and make data-driven recommendations that improve maintenance planning and productivity.
  • Embed safe work practices into every plan by incorporating required permits, isolations, procedures, and job steps that comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with peers and cross-functional partners to share best practices and continuously improve maintenance planning processes, tools, and templates across the site.
What You’ll Bring – Required
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • 3 or more years of maintenance, craft, and/or operations experience in the energy, refining, petrochemical, manufacturing, or related industry
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
    • Travel up to 5%
    • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional duties
    • Transport articles up to 50 pounds
    • Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
    • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions
    • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment
    • Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 or more years of craft or operations experience in the Energy industry
  • 5 or more years of experience in maintenance planning related to safety, craft knowledge, materials, CPM logic, and logistics
  • Proficiency working in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in SAP for the work management process (MM, PM, PS modules)
  • Ability to plan and coordinate multi-craft jobs
  • Working knowledge of engineering, safety, and IHS standards and procedures
  • Ability to read and perform material take-offs from isometrics and equipment drawings
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals
  • Demonstrated ability to use functional expertise to contribute to the success of the business
Compensation Range

This position has a base salary range of $108,900 – $133,100.
