JOB REQUIREMENTS

Having and maintaining a CDL license (Minimum class

B) with ability to obtain class A within 6 months

Having and maintaining an operating telephone.

Misc. Truck driving, hauling aggregates, dirt, supplies etc.

Plowing snow, operating and/or driving paint striping machine.

ROW mowing with full size agricultural tractors and mowers.

Misc. Equipment maintenance, washing, waxing, cleaning interiors etc.

Misc. Building maintenance, sweeping floors, washing windows etc.

Sign work repairing and replacing.

Pavement maintenance, patching, shoulder work, drain cleaning, tile repair etc.

Enrolling and participating in Random Drug and Alcohol testing.

Maintenance workers are on 24 hour call-out for a 1 week period that is rotated weekly from 3:30 P.M. Friday to Friday.

HOURS OF WORK

A normal work week is 8 hours a day Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m.

- 3:30 p.m.

Guaranteed 40 hour work week.

Overtime is paid for work before 7:00 a.m. or after 3:30 p.m.

Any call-out overtime is 3 hours minimum pay.

PROBATION

New employees are on a 30 working day (60 calendar day with consent of Employer and Union) probationary period. New employees are not entitled to fringe benefits contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement until the 30th day of employment.

Seniority will be based on original date of hire after probationary period is complete.

New employees are paid at 90% of the non-probationary full-time rate for the first year.

UNION SHOP

All bargaining unit employees shall become members of Teamsters Local 627 or pay fair share dues. All dues are paid monthly.

BREAKS

A 15 minute break may be taken morning and afternoon.

A 1/ 2 hour break for lunch from 11:30 a.m.

- 12:00 p.m. or from 12:00 p.m.

- 12:30 p.m.

An optional 1/2 hour dinner break in evening when working 2 hours over regular 8 hour day.

OVERTIME

Overtime is paid at 1-1/2 times regular pay for work outside 8 hour day between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and work on Saturdays, except for holidays.

Overtime is paid at 2 times regular pay for work on Sundays.

Overtime is paid at 2 times regular pay on Holidays plus regular Holiday pay.

PAID HOLIDAYS

New Years Day, Presidents Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

PAID VACATION

After 1 year 2 weeks with full pay per year

(1 week may be used after 6 months service)

After 5 years 3 weeks with full pay per year

After 10 years 4 weeks with full pay per year

After 18 years 5 weeks with full pay per year

Annual carryover maximum of 2 weeks.

SICK LEAVE

Employees will accrue 1 sick day per month up to a total of 80 days.

Sick leave may be used for illness, disability or injury of the employee; appointments with doctors, dentists or other recognized practitioners; non-job related injuries under a doctor's care; and, quarantine due to communicable disease in the employee's family.

PERSONAL LEAVE

3 days with full pay per year

Personal leave may be used for personal, legal, household or family matters.

FUNERAL LEAVE

A maximum of 3 days with full pay allowed for death in the immediate family of employee.

HEALTH INSURANCE

The employer and employee each pay a portion of the premiums for health insurance for the employee that is provided through Teamsters Local 627.

Health insurance provides coverage for health, dental and optical.

RETIREMENT

All Tazewell County employees are with Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund. The County pays into this fund as well as the employee. Employees in this position who first participated in IMRF on or after January 1, 2011 are in IMRF Regular Tier 2 and are vested after 10 years of service.

MISC.

Employees receive a clothing allowance in the first pay period of the new fiscal year to obtain and maintain appropriate attire for work. Employees are reimbursed for the cost of renewing CDL licenses.
