Grant Coordinator Effective FY School Year
Qualifications:
Experience in working with federal and state grants. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a General Administrative Endorsement (no longer issued after 8‑31‑14) or a Principal endorsement.
- Success in organizational leadership and working within a school district environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas and concepts clearly.
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline‑oriented industry.
- Strong background in finance, mathematics, or accounting.
- Intermediate understanding of IWAS, Skyward, and financial management systems.
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations
Work Calendar: Full‑Time, 12 month position
Position Goal: The Grant Coordinator leads the application process and oversees the execution of the district‑wide grants program in keeping with the needs of students and the priorities, and competencies of the District and its faculty and staff.
Rate of Pay/Benefits: Salary range $90,000–$105,000. The position includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.
The Grant Coordinator shall be responsible for the following duties and perform other duties that may be assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations:
Roles & Responsibilities :- The Grant Coordinator will build partnerships with public, private, and non‑profit organizations to assist with the grant planning and development process, identifying funding sources and grant opportunities.
- Provides support and guidance for compliance checks and program monitoring of district‑supported programs.
- Works closely with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations and the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction as well as building administration to monitor and schedule professional development needed for grant and compliance components.
- Research, write, and submit new competitive grants to enhance district programs and delivery of services.
- Research, write, and submit categorical grant funding proposals including but not limited to IDEA, Title I, Title II, LIEP English Language Learning, and the Preschool for All grants.
- Collaborate with all departments, schools and community partners to ensure grants and programming are developed and implemented in an equitable manner.
- Ensures deliverables and reporting requirements are met, and that files and records are properly kept and maintained.
- Responsible for completing, compiling, maintaining, and filing all reports, records, and documents as legally required and administratively useful.
- Including preparation of Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) reporting.
- Provide information to assist with auditors to develop the annual district Comprehensive Financial Audit.
- Provide information for grant management.
- Stay current with ISBE regulations and expectations for grant management.
- Work closely with the Accounting Specialist on completion of monthly financial / expenditure reports.
- Assume responsibility for personal professional growth and development, remaining current with literature, new research findings, improved strategies and techniques, and attending appropriate professional meetings.
- Develop positive working relationships with colleagues and promote an encouraging, supportive working environment.
- Be knowledgeable of the District Safety Plan.
