Location: Bedford Park

Position

Corrugator Utility, 3rd Shift (11:00pm – 7:00am) at Chicago Container plant, 5445 W 73rd St. Bedford Park, IL 60638.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a team in support of a manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.
  • Assume an active role in overall plant and facilities-related work.
  • Assist all jobs on the corrugator.
  • Follow all company safety rules and lock‑out tag‑out procedures.
  • Maintain shop and shop equipment per 5S Standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to stack parts up to 30 lbs. for a period of up to 12 hours.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must be willing to work second shift.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a packaging environment is preferred.
  • Understands that temperatures and volumes of work may vary.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
  • Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Thrives in a cross‑functional team environment.
  • Works with a sense of urgency to reduce downtime of machines.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting salary: $28.49 per hour.
  • Bonus:
    Annual – based upon achievement of plant performance metrics.
  • Paid Vacation:
    One week per calendar year for new hires; prorated vacation during initial year based on start date.
  • Paid Holidays.
  • Within the first 30 days, employees (and dependents) eligible to enroll in certain benefit coverages – medical, dental, vision; automatically enrolled in life, AD&D, and disability coverages.
  • Upon hire, employees able to enroll in 401k plan with pre‑tax and Roth contributions and employer matching.
  • 1.5x pay over 8 hours, for over 40 hours and weekends.
  • 1.5x pay on holidays, plus additional overtime over 8 hours on holidays.
  • Stipend for safety shoes and glasses.
