We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Manager of Product Quality & Compliance to lead end‑to‑end product quality strategy and execution for our small kitchen appliance portfolio. This role is heavily focused on proactive quality engineering, supplier quality management, field performance improvement, and leveraging our Asia‑based quality and compliance teams to ensure consistent, scalable execution.
The ideal candidate is an engineering‑driven quality leader with deep experience in consumer durable goods or small appliances, strong factory engagement experience in Asia, and a proven track record of reducing field failures while strengthening compliance systems.
This is not a purely strategic role — it requires direct technical engagement, structured problem‑solving, and active ownership of quality outcomes from concept through post‑market performance.
Key Responsibilities Product Quality Leadership- Own end‑to‑end product quality performance across new and existing small kitchen appliance lines, driving measurable improvements in yield, defect rates, warranty, and field performance.
- Analyze field returns and warranty data to identify systemic design and manufacturing issues, and partner cross‑functionally with Engineering to enhance product reliability and robustness.
- Establish clear expectations, reporting cadence, and escalation processes with overseas partners to ensure consistent execution and accountability.
- Oversee product compliance for North America and global markets (UL/ETL, FCC, FDA where applicable, RoHS, REACH, Prop 65, etc.).
- Ensure testing plans and certification timelines align with product development milestones.
- Partner with Asia compliance teams to manage testing labs and certification agencies.
- Maintain technical documentation and compliance records.
- Monitor evolving regulatory requirements impacting small kitchen appliances.
- Support the Asian team with reliability testing plans (life testing, environmental, abuse testing).
- Ensure quality risk mitigation before mass production.
- Support pilot builds and pre‑production validation.
- Strengthen quality management systems and standard operating procedures.
- Implement best practices across global teams.
- Drive cost‑of‑quality reduction initiatives.
- Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms for executive visibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related required).
- 8+ years of progressive experience in product quality, supplier quality, or quality engineering.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in regulatory compliance for consumer appliances.
- 3+ years in a leadership role guiding cross‑functional and/or overseas teams.
- Strong experience in small kitchen appliances or consumer durable electronics required.
- Hands‑on experience working with Asia‑based manufacturers (China, Vietnam, etc.).
- Proven track record reducing warranty and field failure rates.
- Deep understanding of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies (8D, DMAIC, 5‑Why).
- Experience with reliability testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of electrical safety and appliance regulatory standards.
- Strong data analysis capabilities (Excel, BI tools, or similar).
