Shift
Schedule:
2nd shift, 3:30 PM - 12:30 AM, days off on Tuesday & Wednesday.
- Supervise core warehouse functions, demonstrating proficiency in all processes and ensuring compliance with standard procedures.
- Maintain layout and organization of drop zone and warehouse spaces and promote a safe workplace.
- Ensures full utilization of WMS for product moves to and from the production / shipping floor.
- Familiarizes themselves with all trackers and inventory items to verify production needs and guide the team.
- Stays abreast of e‑mails and other communication for product changes, and promptly informs the warehouse team.
- Ensures warehouse drop list is used to pull product for the production floor.
- Ensures product is placed in correct quantity and location on floor per WMS and follows up when not meeting expectation.
- Upholds standard procedures for staging product in coolers and freezers when applicable.
- Can read boxing call‑out sheets and identify meats assigned to meals for audit.
- Works with warehouse lead to keep the team on task list.
- Collaborates with production management to troubleshoot when warehouse duties impact production efficiency.
- Conducts end-of-shift walkthrough ensuring cleanup and return to designated locations, documenting and communicating results.
- Conducts audits of storage to confirm putback processes are followed.
- Adheres to safety procedures and fosters a “safety first” workplace.
- Builds a teamwork and collaboration environment.
- Communicates job expectations and builds performance standards.
- Lives the Home Chef Values and models competencies.
- Manages attendance reports and follows up on points and coaching.
- Conducts rotational check‑ins to ensure progress against task lists.
- Works with team leads and associates to solve issues, implementing solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Escalates issues to share with other shifts and plants.
- Ensures training for safe material movement and SOPs; audits daily.
- Audits the P.I.T. checklists for equipment pre‑shift checks.
- Ensures use of WMS for accuracy and efficiency.
- Delivers performance evaluations for leads and associates in a timely manner.
- Coaches with positive reinforcement or constructive feedback; records coaching actions.
- Develops leads to oversee their team members.
- Coordinates with Inbound/Outbound Superintendent for scheduling and time‑off requests.
- Acts as liaison between Warehouse and Production during shifts.
- Ensures smooth handoffs and clear status of materials and returns.
- Escalates and resolves delays, inventory gaps or system discrepancies.
- Recommends and assists in implementing operating procedures and continuous improvement.
- Follows facility GMPs and safety policies, enforcing them throughout the facility.
- Supports SQF and quality programs; expects all areas to score at or above standards.
This position requires 0% travel.
Qualifications- General high school degree or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Computer proficiency to execute transactions and enter counts.
- Ability to use handheld data logging equipment.
- Experience supervising at least 5-10 employees.
- Minimum 2+ years in a warehouse leadership role.
- Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
- Certification for powered industrial truck use within 90 days.
Illinois: $65,000 – $75,000 USD.
