Part-Time Solid Waste Technician

General Nature of Work:

This is skilled and unskilled work in the Division of Solid Waste. Manages the daily operation of the established Litter Crew Program. This program includes working with adult inmates assigned by the courts and/or the Detention Center to perform community service and have been determined to safely provide litter pick-up services within Kenton County. Generally works as part of a crew but may be assigned to work alone.

Duties are performed under limited supervision.

Requirements

Necessary Special & Physical Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to obtain a (Class
  
  A) commercial motor vehicle operator's license.
• Upon appointment, employees in this class shall be required to maintain a valid driver's license and may be required to drive a licensed vehicle. This status shall be necessary for the length of time in this class. Applicants and employees in this job title shall be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check.
• Must complete CPR/AED training and obtain certification within one year of employment.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be available to work a semi-flexible shift, including occasional weekend work. Must be able to lift forty (40) pounds or more to a height of four (4) feet or more.
• Eye sight must be correctable to 20/20 vision. Hearing must be within normal acceptable range of 20-25 with or without a hearing aid.
