DSG Outside Service Technician St. Louis, MO

As an Outside Service Technician, you will master expert repair techniques, develop valuable skills, and grow professionally through our training programs—every repair you complete directly impacts families and contributes to the Ashley story.

• Repairs with little guidance on all product types.
• Completes all repair types of entry level with additional skills requirements.
• Performs minor repair on the surface of case pieces and tables.
• Performs solid‑color paper/side refinishes.
• Performs small corner damages that require rebuild.
• Has general understanding of spray‑booth set up and use.
• Performs advanced replacement‑part repairs.
• Communicates any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware needed and keeps the repair area/shop clean.
• Helps inspect damaged products and determines if they can be repaired to like‑new conditions.
• Works with warehouse personnel on techniques of minor touch‑up during the inspection process.
• Documents and follows through on recurring product damages.
• Assists other technicians.
• Accurately reports situations where repairs cannot be completed.
• Assesses damages to determine the most efficient repair approach.
• Identifies damage, loss or surplus of goods and materials stored in the warehouse.

• Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
• Maintains proper safety usage of all products used within the department.
• Maintains a clean and organized service vehicle, including required repair materials and supplies.
• Adheres to driving policy for company vehicles, including meeting annual MVR review requirements.
• Follows the planned route to ensure on‑time arrival for customer repairs.
• Safely operates hand and power tools, especially drills, impact drivers, and multi‑tools.
• Completes bench testing evaluations for regular validation of skills.

• High School Diploma.
• 1‑year practical work experience in furniture repair (upholstery, leather repairs, wood refinishing) or similar experience with other materials and color matching.
• Confident in reading, understanding, and writing in English; additional languages beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to learn in‑house computer programs.
• Valid Driver’s License and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record per company guidelines.

• Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus to read reports and view computer screens.
• Heard and understand speech to interact with others.
• Speak so that others understand.
• Remain seated for extended periods.
• Perform repetitive tasks with both hands (keyboarding, handwriting, office/POS equipment, handheld equipment operation).
• Remain on one’s feet in an upright position and move about on foot.
• Bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach at or above shoulder level.
• Lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds and more with assistance.
• Work predominantly in a private home or retail establishment; occasional work at warehouse locations.
• Potential exposure to oil, latex, spray paint, household chemicals, biological odors, household dust, moderate office noise.
