Job Description & How to Apply Below
This is not a corporate role.
This is not a high-salary position.
And this is definitely not for someone who’s unsure about commitment.
But if you’re someone who feels done with polluted cities, endless screens, and work that looks good on paper but feels empty in real life, read on.
Company Description
Sila Himalayas is a charming boutique homestay and café nestled in the tranquil village of Khaniyara, Dharamshala. Designed to promote deep relaxation, mindful work, and meaningful connections, Sila offers a unique experience for digital nomads, remote IT professionals, and global team members. With premium rooms, artistic interiors, curated wellness-focused meals, fast Wi-Fi, and multiple work zones, guests enjoy an environment conducive to creativity and rejuvenation.
Located just 20 minutes from McLeodganj, Sila harmonizes the quiet beauty of the Himalayas with modern amenities in a welcoming and community-driven atmosphere.
Role Description
We are looking for a Community Manager who doesn’t just “manage” but holds the space. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Dharamshala for a boutique BnB brand Sila Himalayas.
What this role really involves
- Being the first warm face guests meet and the last reassuring one they remember
- Managing daily guest experiences, check-ins, check-outs, and small details that make stays feel personal
- Creating a sense of community among guests without forcing it
- Handling guest queries calmly and thoughtfully
- Coordinating small in-house experiences or conversations when the moment feels right
- Managing and contributing to our social media presence with honesty, not hype
- Working closely with the on-ground team to ensure everything flows smoothly
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and promote a warm, inclusive community.
- Event planning and organizational skills for curating meaningful guest experiences and managing operations efficiently.
- Social media and marketing knowledge to manage online presence and enhance the brand's visibility.
- Proficiency in hospitality management and customer service, with an eye for detail and ensuring a high-quality guest experience.
- Ability to work effectively on-site in a collaborative team environment while maintaining a proactive and positive attitude.
- Passion for hospitality, community building, and creating a mindful and inspiring environment.
- Experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality sector is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English and Hindi; additional language skills are a bonus.
- Basic computer and administrative skills for managing bookings and guest records.
Who this role is for
- Someone who is reliable, grounded, and consistent
- Someone who understands hospitality is about care, not performance
- Someone who communicates well in English and Hindi
- Someone comfortable living and working on-site in a village setting
- Someone okay with fewer distractions and more presence
- Experience in hospitality, travel, community-building, or content is a plus, but attitude matters more than CVs
Who this role is not for
- People looking for corporate salaries or quick growth titles
- Short-term “let me try this for a month” mindsets
- Anyone who struggles with showing up daily and seeing things through
Compensation & Honesty upfront
We are a growing brand and cannot offer a corporate salary at this stage.
What we do offer:
- Comfortable stay at the property
- All meals
- A monthly stipend (discussed transparently)
- A rare chance to live in the Himalayas while doing meaningful work
- A long-term role for the right person who grows with us
This role suits someone taking a leap of faith.
Someone choosing life experience, depth, and purpose over speed.
If this resonates deeply and you feel a quiet “yes” while reading this, we’d love to hear from you.
