Custodian - Part Time

Regular Employee |Hourly Non-Exempt | $22.00 - 22.00

The Maintenance Custodian position is responsible for external and internal appearance and cleanliness of our building(s). It is important for a custodian to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning, sanitizing, and tidying the premises. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep, general maintenance, janitorial work, and have good physical endurance to cover a large space.

A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.

• Clean restrooms and sanitize sinks, toilets, and urinals
• Sweep and mop floors and replenish paper products, i.e., restrooms
• Salt walkways during winter months
• Pick up trash and empty all trash containers
• Lawn care, i.e., pull weeds
• Dust all furniture, chairs, desks, filing cabinets, and wall hangings (artwork)
• Clean carpeted areas as needed
• Mop linoleum floors and sweep all carpeted areas
• Clean all glass (inside/out) doors, windows, and mirrors
• Change light bulbs as needed
• Clean mini blinds as needed
• Set up conference/meeting/show/event rooms with tables, chairs, etc. as needed
• Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting up the alarm
• Undertake other occasional custodial and janitorial tasks as requested

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 1-2 years proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
• Custodian experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred
• Knowledge of use of cleaning equipment and appliances
• Attention to detail and conscientiousness
• Very good physical condition and strength
