Job Summary

Zidan Management Group is seeking a dependable and skilled Floating Maintenance Technician to join our team. This full‑time role will be primarily stationed in the Indianapolis area, with occasional assignments at other properties in our portfolio across Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. The Floating Maintenance Technician will work closely with Property Managers and Maintenance Supervisors to perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep, ensuring our communities remain safe and welcoming for residents.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, Fair Housing, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other applicable federal, state and local laws.
  • Handle maintenance requests and work orders promptly, as assigned by the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Inspect vacated apartments, complete checklists, and perform necessary tasks to restore them to “make‑ready” status.
  • Replace or repair windows, latches, screens, hinges, sliding glass doors, shelves, baseboards, mirrors, and closet doors.
  • Check applicable appliances and promptly inform the Maintenance Supervisor of any issues.
  • Assist in changing or removing appliances from apartments.
  • Make keys when necessary.
  • Inspect faucets, sink plugs, and perform repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Assist with painting duties as requested, ensuring a fresh and appealing appearance.
  • Repair holes in drywall, patch, plaster, and paint as necessary.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following guidelines set by the Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager.
Qualifications
  • Must meet all physical requirements and be able to take direction.
  • Previous maintenance experience required (2 years).
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety protocols.
  • HVAC Certification required.
  • EPA Certification a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of general maintenance, repair, and safety practices.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to properties in Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance.
Compensation
  • Competitive hourly pay: $30–$32 (depending on experience and certifications).
  • Monthly bonus per unit ($125 per renewal) shared among all employees.
  • Job type:
    Full‑time.
  • Expected hours: 40 per week (9 AM‑6 PM); weekends may be required as circumstances warrant.
