Maintenance Assistant
Location: Shady Nook Nursing and Rehab, Lawrenceburg, IN
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site (Monday–Friday)
On-Call: Required (once or twice per month, including weekends/holidays as needed)
Shady Nook Nursing and Rehab is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Assistant to support the overall upkeep, safety, and appearance of our skilled nursing facility. This role is essential in ensuring a clean, functional, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and general maintenance repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, drywall, drilling, and painting work
- Maintain facility interiors by repairing walls, ceilings, doors, baseboards, and related structures
- Replace light bulbs, including exit and overhead lighting
- Move furniture and equipment as needed to complete maintenance tasks
- Assist with room preparation and cleaning following resident discharge
- Perform exterior and grounds maintenance, including trimming, sweeping, and parking area upkeep
- Coordinate maintenance activities in resident areas with nursing staff
- Follow established preventative maintenance schedules
- Respond to unscheduled or emergency maintenance requests
- Participate in the on-call rotation as required
- Prior experience in general maintenance or mechanical work required
- Drilling into walls and painting experience is required
- Working knowledge of maintenance tools, materials, and repair techniques
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
- Valid driver’s license required
