About the Role

The Laundry staff at Car Don and Associates are essential for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient laundry operation that supports the overall comfort and satisfaction of residents and staff. This role involves handling all aspects of laundry processing, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing linens and clothing in a timely manner. The successful candidate will ensure that all laundry items meet high standards of cleanliness and presentation, contributing to a hygienic and welcoming environment.

Attention to detail and adherence to safety and sanitation protocols are critical to prevent damage to fabrics and maintain operational efficiency. Ultimately, this role plays a vital part in supporting the daily functions by providing consistently clean and well-maintained laundry services.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sort laundry items according to color, fabric type, and washing requirements to prevent damage and ensure optimal cleaning.
  • Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently following established procedures.
  • Inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues to management for appropriate action.
  • Fold, organize, and distribute clean laundry to designated areas or individuals promptly to meet operational needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laundry area, including routine cleaning of machines and work spaces.
  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and high-quality laundry output.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic understanding of laundry processes and equipment operation.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to meet the demands of scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a laundry or similar environment.
  • Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and detergents.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage workflow efficiently.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
  • Basic knowledge of fabric care and stain removal techniques.
