The Ideal candidate will have 5+ years industrial maintenance experience in an industrial setting. Glass industry experience preferred.
What You Will Be DoingAs a Facility Services Technician, you will maintain a clean, safe and professional facility across all office, production and exterior areas on 3rd shift. This role is the primary owner of facility cleanliness and serves as a development pathway into the maintenance team. As skills develop, you will cross‑train on powered equipment and assist with maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES Office Areas
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum office floors on a scheduled cadence.
- Clean windows, glass doors, and bathroom mirrors.
- Empty all office trash cans and replace liners.
- Clean and restock office restrooms (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, sanitizer).
- Clean out‑refrigerator on a scheduled PM cycle.
- Replace dirty or damaged ceiling tiles as needed.
- Touch‑up painting as needed to maintain a professional appearance.
- Run floor scrubber on a scheduled cadence to manage dust and debris.
- Empty trash cans in each production department.
- Empty glass hoppers and drop racks as scheduled (forklift required— after certification).
- Clean cobwebs from ceilings, walls, and overhead structures using scissor lift (after certification).
- Identify and report loose, hanging, or damaged signage; repair or replace when within scope.
- Sweep and clean dock areas, staging areas, and high‑traffic zones.
- Clean and restock plant‑floor restrooms.
- Address spills and wet areas promptly. Coordinate with Safety Manager on any hazardous material situations.
- Clean windows, glass doors, and bathroom mirrors.
- Clean up glass, trash, and debris around the exterior of the building.
- Maintain smoking area cleanliness.
- Keep front entrance, walkways, and dumpster area presentable.
- Spread salt/ice melt on walkways during winter weather as needed.
- Track cleaning supply inventory and submit requisitions before stockouts.
- Follow manufacturer procedures for chemical cleaners, including proper mixing and dilution.
- Perform basic daily maintenance on cleaning equipment (scrubber pads, solution fill, dirty water drain, inspection).
- Assist maintenance team with tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
- Core facility cleaning responsibilities take priority each shift; maintenance support is secondary and should not displace completion of the daily cleaning schedule.
- Review manager emails and daily task list at the start of each shift.
- Follow the weekly printed cleaning schedule for area assignments and cadence.
- Submit a shift report at the end of shift documenting completed tasks and issues identified.
- Notify the Maintenance Manager of any major repair needs, safety concerns, or equipment issues.
- Assist with building security tasks as needed (locking doors after operating hours).
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Candidates must have prior industrial maintenance experience to qualify.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work independently on 3 rd shift.
- Williness to obtain powered equipment certifications through on-site training.
- Basic communication skills for shift reports and coordinating with maintenance team.
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Bilingual English and Spanish speaking is preferred.
- Prior facility cleaning, janitorial, or custodial experience is preferred.
- Experience operating floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, or forklifts is a plus.
- Manufacturing or warehouse environment experience is preferred.
