Maintenance Supervisor

Purpose:

This position exists to support the Maintenance Manager to ensure timely repairs, parts order updates, and efficient, prompt communications occur between Maintenance team and end users. The position also supports the Facilities Director by ensuring day‑to‑day tasks are complete, ensuring payroll is complete and staff trainings are up to date.

• Follows up with maintenance staff on status, delays or completion of assigned work.
• Monitor equipment inventory and place orders to support efficient repairs.
• Research and source cost‑saving options and alternatives.
• Create Purchase Orders for special (non‑standard) items.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor inspections to machinery and campus systems.
• Direct staff of ~15 personnel, deliver positive and critical feedback and discipline per company policy.
• Manages time in office and in the field assessing opportunities for campus maintenance improvements.

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus related experience or knowledge.
• Forklift experience is desirable (Jayco training is required when forklift operation is required for position).
• Ability to work with Microsoft Office, especially Excel spreadsheets.

• Demonstrates analytical problem‑solving skills while using good judgement and decision‑making processes to effectively problem solve.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude through periods of adversity and disagreement.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with co‑workers, management, customers and others to enhance organizational effectiveness and productivity in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Ability to use & familiarize with a variety of hand and power tools, cutting equipment, testing tools.
• Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
• Willingness to lead by example and demonstrate desirable professional behavior.

• This position may require working in extremes in temperature & temperature and environment while performing moderately physical activity.
• Requires ability to occasionally travel between field locations.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Must have the ability to meet and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test or have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experience.
• Must be knowledgeable in the safe use of hand and small power tools.
• Must pass color vision and color hue tests.
• Must be able to maintain good attendance.
• This position is a full‑time position, which may require some flexibility in hours & days worked (including Saturdays, as needed).
