ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
1) Shampoos carpet and upholstery utilizing various techniques.
2) Identifies and removes spots from carpet and upholstery with the appropriate spotting agent.
3) Strips and refinishes floors.
4) Spray buffs and/or burnishes resilient and hard floor surfaces.
5) Scrubs, pressure wash and wash walls, stairs, elevators and walkways.
6) Vacuums carpet, upholstery, and furniture.
7) Mixes chemical ratios as recommended by the manufacturer for hard floors, carpets and cement floors.
8) Performs minor equipment repairs and maintains equipment in a clean and safe condition.
9) Removes bulk trash from the interior of the facilities and place it in compactor or dumpster as directed.
10) Reports building repair needs to the manager or immediate supervisor. 11) Must be able to lift furniture, furnishings and equipment.
12) May set-up and break down meeting rooms.
13) May be required to inspect the exterior of the facility and collect trash and other debris.
14) Completes any daily paperwork that his/her position requires.
15) Participates in ISO practices and embraces ISO principles and philosophies in the performance of principal duties and responsibilities.
16) Makes Safety the first consideration above all other responsibilities. Follows all safety rules and uses sound judgment for the protection of him/her, coworkers, client personnel, client invitees, general public and property. Participates in safety training and attends safety meetings as scheduled by Supervisor. The floor technician is responsible to report to his/her supervisor any unsafe conditions or practices.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred but not required. A minimum of one (1) year of related experience in a similar service-related position preferred but not required.
Language
Skills:
Ability to speak simple sentences, to read and interpret safety rules and to read chemical labels. Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
All licenses and industry certifications as required by local and/or state jurisdictions.
Other
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to operate all trade tools and equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The physical demands include:
Continuous Standing Frequent Walking, Lifting/Carrying 20 - 50 lbs., Pulling/Pushing, Reaching with Hands and Arms, Grasping/Squeezing (Right and Left Hand)
