Housekeeping Technician

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment within a designated facility. This role combines technical skills with traditional housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and comfortable atmosphere for residents, guests, or staff.

• Perform routine and specialized cleaning tasks to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in various areas of the facility.
• Utilize appropriate cleaning equipment, tools, and chemicals to achieve optimal results.
• Implement and adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of germs and maintain a hygienic environment.
• Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials.
• Collect and dispose of waste and recyclables according to established procedures.
• Monitor waste receptacles and replace liners as needed.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying supervisors when replenishment is required.
• Ensure that cleaning materials are stored safely and securely.
• Collaborate with other housekeeping staff to achieve collective cleanliness goals.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding any maintenance or cleanliness issues.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in housekeeping or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and infection control practices.
• Ability to operate technical cleaning equipment.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
