Custodian Part Time - 260 Days (Day Shift)
Position Purpose

Performs custodial support for school activities. Custodians will strive to provide a clean, healthful and pleasant environment for students, staff and school patrons.

• Responsible for routine custodial duties in all areas of the building
• Respond to spills, accidents, etc. that require immediate custodial attention
• Responsible for cleaning light fixtures and changing bulbs & lamps
• Responsible for anticipating supply needs and reporting them to the Head Custodian
• Responsible for maintaining custodial closets in a clean and orderly condition
• Responsible for providing assistance to maintenance personnel when directed
• Perform related or special tasks as assigned by the Head Custodian and School Administrator
• Perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials
• Promote an environment free of harassment and discrimination

• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
• Demonstrate good judgment and common sense
• Available to work additional hours and/or be on call as required to meet the needs of the position
• Maintain a professional attitude and a positive relationship with stakeholders at all times
• Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, dust, odors, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, freezing wet and/or humid conditions, wet/slippery surfaces, risk of shock, vibration and varying levels of noise /sound.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

• Use hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners
• Operate equipment and machinery in a fashion to provide a safe environment
• Responsible for maintaining assigned custodial equipment in clean, operationally ready condition and reporting any repairs needed to the Head Custodian

Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

$15.75 per hour

5.5 hours per day

260 days a year

Often Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. Often Ability to see for the purpose of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter.
