This is an on-site role at our corporate training center in Indianapolis.
Responsibilities- Work out of the Corporate Training Center, conducting training sessions both at the Training Center and across the KFS footprint.
- Assume the role of Subject Matter Expert for KFS in fire alarm systems.
- Research and maintain a working knowledge of relevant codes (e.g., NFPA, IFC, OSHA, etc.) appropriate for the area of expertise.
- Monitor all relevant training materials for accuracy to codes, technology, and processes, and make, or have made, changes to materials to ensure accuracy.
- Follow and role-model all policies, procedures, safety rules, and good driving habits.
- Be organized and able to exercise effective time management skills to prioritize workload
- Interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a professional manner.
- Ability to present to small and large audiences in a professional and effective manner.
- Open-minded to continued learning.
- Role does require some travel (approximately 25%).
- At least five (5) years of experience in Fire Alarm
- NICET I certification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to meet state licensing requirements and/or vendor certifications
- Proficiency working in Microsoft Suite:
Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point - High school diploma or GED
- Pass drug and background screenings
- NICET II or III certification in Fire Alarm Systems (FAS)
- Experience presenting to small and large industry groups
- Able to safely and effectively use general hand and power tools
- Lift and carry a minimum of 75 lbs., push and pull greater than 75 lbs.
- Climb ladder reaching a height of at least 12 feet, use a man lift, and reach heights exceeding 40 feet to perform services
- Exposure to outside weather conditions, temperature changes, and loud noises
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
