Position Summary

This position is responsible for troubleshooting and performing truck and/or bus repair jobs within a shop environment.

Position Duties/Responsibilities

* Performs scheduled services and repairs on truck or buses (engines, drivetrain, chassis, electrical systems) in the shop using proper tools and procedures

* Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts

* Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met

* Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner

* Follow all safety and contamination control rules and regulations

* Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area

* Maintain company issued equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* No formal responsibility for supervising others

Position Requirements

Required:

* High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience

* 3 years or more of mechanical experience with diesel engines and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain repairs

Preferred:

* 5 years or more experience with diesel engines (Caterpillar or Cummins is a plus) and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain repairs

* Medium Duty Cummins Engine Certification

* Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of power train, diesel engines, and electrical systems

* Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and listening skills.

* Strong multitasking abilities, detail-oriented and self-motivated

* Excellent customer service skills

* Professional demeanor with both internal and external contacts including personal appearance and friendly, courteous treatment of peers and people at all levels inside and outside the organization

* Strong computer skills experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and the ability to learn CAT/Mac Allister/Michigan Cat systems

* Ability to build and maintain effective customer and professional relationships through strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship-building and consistent demonstration of solid professional judgment

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline driven environment

* Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
