Maintenance Technician
This hands-on Maintenance Technician role in Indianapolis focuses on keeping production equipment running reliably in a fast-paced, food-grade plastics manufacturing environment. You will primarily perform mechanical maintenance with some electrical work, supporting blow molding and injection molding operations while troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, and driving preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and repairs on trimming machines, strappers, cylinders, air fittings, and conveyor systems to ensure consistent and efficient operation.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and electrical systems to quickly identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves and related components, to support production equipment.
- Assist with robotic troubleshooting, including Fanuc robotics, to support automated equipment and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Support maintenance on motors, 3-phase power equipment, and industrial machinery in a plastics manufacturing environment.
- Perform basic electrical work up to 480V, including troubleshooting and repair of electrical components within safety guidelines.
- Work on and support equipment used in blow molding and injection molding processes for plastic containers.
- Use welding (MIG) skills as needed for repairs, fabrication, or reinforcement of equipment and components.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food-grade or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience in plastics manufacturing, particularly in blow molded plastic containers.
- Comfort working with conveyor systems, trimming machines, and related packaging equipment.

This role is based in a manufacturing facility in Indianapolis that produces plastic containers. The environment emphasizes cleanliness and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. On the production floor, you must wear hair nets, beard nets (as applicable), safety glasses, and steel-toe footwear at all times to meet food-grade and safety requirements. The facility operates with a strong focus on industrial equipment such as trimming machines, strappers, conveyor systems, blow molding and injection molding machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and Fanuc robotics.
Safety and quality are top priorities, and the team is encouraged to work independently while maintaining clear communication and adherence to established procedure.
This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $68640.00 - $83200.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
