About the RoleThe Senior Maintenance Technician will maintain an environment of care that provides a safe, functional, and clean treatment facility for patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include ensuring all critical, life‑safety, and equipment systems are maintained for optimal operational readiness.
Required SkillsThe role requires working knowledge of maintenance principles, theories, and operations, basic hand and power tools, and good oral and written communication skills at a high school graduate level. Ability to work with peers in a team situation is essential.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair a broad variety of hospital equipment and systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance on hospital equipment and systems.
- Operate a broad variety of hospital equipment and systems.
- Perform construction tasks for preparation of the hospital for furnishings, equipment, and systems.
- Maintain parts and material inventory to support maintenance and repair functions.
- Pursue educational improvements and provide training on procedures, equipment, and system operations.
- Serve as a maintenance resource to monitor the operation status and condition of hospital equipment and systems.
- Ensure the department provides high‑quality, cost‑effective maintenance support for the hospital.
- Respond to customers’ comments or informal complaints about hospital systems or operations, and recommend actions to supervisors within 24 hours.
- Maintain and complete maintenance journals, logs, and time sheets daily.
- Perform air balance, water, steam, refrigerant, and temperature control measurements/adjustments on systems to achieve optimum performance.
- Measure air velocity, pressure, flow, and temperature consistently within ten percent accuracy.
- Predict and adjust total system performance after any air, water, temperature, or pneumatic changes are made.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Three (3) years of experience in facility maintenance, and/or relatable industrial, commercial, or institutional experience, and/or construction with hospital maintenance experience preferred.
- Related technical school graduate or five (5) years of on‑the‑job training required.
