Floor Cleaning Specialist

The Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown Union Station is hiring a Floor Cleaning Specialist. The Floor Cleaning Specialist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of various floor surfaces. The role provides routine cleaning of carpet, tile, wood, concrete, baseboards, furniture upholstery, and terrazzo flooring. Experience using commercial grade Carpet Extractors, Pressure washers, Floor Scrubbers, and Floor Buffers is strongly preferred.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Cleaning & Sanitizing:
    Sweep, vacuum, mop, and spot-clean floors.
  • Carpet Care:
    Perform shampooing, extraction for carpets.
  • Stone and Tile Floor Care:
    Buffing and scrubbing tile and stone floors and baseboards.
  • Maintenance & Repairs:
    Identify damaged areas, perform grout cleaning, and conduct periodic restorative tasks.
  • Equipment Operation:
    Safely operate auto scrubbers, polishers, burnishers, buffers, vacuums, pressure washers and carpet extractors
  • Inspections & Reporting:
    Monitor floor condition in Hotel Guest Rooms, Corridors, Restaurants Floors, Sidewalks, Meeting Space, and Lobby. Report hazards or damage to the Maintenance Team

Skills & Qualifications
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safe handling, and flooring materials. Working knowledge of using auto scrubbers, polishers, burnishers, buffers, vacuums, pressure washers and carpet extractors
  • Physical Ability:
    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and work in varied environments
  • Attention to Detail:
    High standards for cleanliness and safety compliance
  • Soft Skills:

    Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, and ability to work independently
  • Work Flexibility:
    Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or on-call
  • Safety Awareness:
    Adherence to all safety protocols and OSHA/industry standards
