Client is seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager to lead the entire Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) organization at the Indianapolis manufacturing facility. This leader will be responsible for plant-wide equipment reliability, uptime, maintenance strategy, facilities and utilities, TPM, continuous improvement, safety, productivity, and cost optimization. The ideal candidate will bring extensive Client/FMCG manufacturing and maintenance leadership experience, with a strong track record of improving OEE, reducing downtime, developing high-performing maintenance teams, and implementing TPM/Lean/6 Sigma programs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the complete Maintenance & Reliability organization.
- Own plant equipment uptime, reliability, and equipment lifecycle.
- Develop and execute the strategic Maintenance & Reliability roadmap.
- Establish governance and performance management for maintenance programs.
- Lead preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Drive toward zero breakdowns and improved equipment life.
- Lead TPM progression, technical mastery, visual controls, lubrication, calibration, and maintenance standards.
- Lead implementation and progression of IL6S (Integrated Lean 6 Sigma).
- Establish a culture of zero losses and employee engagement.
- Drive improvements in OEE, MTBF, and MTTR.
- Identify and eliminate downtime, waste, and operational losses.
- Support plant teams in developing and improving operating standards.
- Identify opportunities for automation, technology, and process improvement.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop Maintenance & Reliability teams.
- Build technical and managerial capabilities across the organization.
- Develop succession plans for critical M&R positions.
- Attract, retain, and develop high-performing talent.
- Promote servant leadership, accountability, and employee engagement.
- Partner with plant leadership to build a high-performance culture.
- Manage the Maintenance & Reliability operating budget.
- Deliver annual financial targets and year-over-year cost savings.
- Optimize maintenance labor, strategies, facilities spending, and spare-parts inventory.
- Manage capital budgets and support capital investment decisions.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs through improved reliability and reduced downtime.
- Ensure compliance with: GMP, food safety standards, employee safety requirements, business continuity requirements, site security, government regulations.
- Ensure employees and service providers understand and follow applicable standards.
- Support compliance with industrial maintenance regulations and safety requirements.
- Identify plant improvement opportunities through capital projects.
- Partner with Engineering to ensure successful design and execution of projects.
- Support technology, automation, and manufacturing equipment improvements.
- Interpret technical drawings, manuals, specifications, and regulations.
- Serve as a senior member of the Plant Manager's leadership team.
- Participate in strategic planning across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work with government authorities, professional associations, universities, and other external organizations as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 15+ years of maintenance experience in Client/FMCG, or a combination of Maintenance, Engineering, and Manufacturing experience.
- 8+ years of leadership experience.
- Strong Maintenance & Reliability leadership experience within a Client/FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Proven success developing maintenance/reliability systems and teams.
- Demonstrated success improving OEE and equipment reliability.
- Demonstrated record of delivering significant cost savings.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, food safety, employee safety, and industrial maintenance regulations.
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to empower and develop teams.
- Transformational mindset with strong change-management capabilities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, specifications, and regulations.
- TPM / Total Productive Maintenance expertise
