We are seeking a motivated and dependable Field Technician (Drill Support) to join our team in Beatty, NV. This role is essential to exploration programs, providing direct support to drill sites, handling core on the pad, maintaining site infrastructure, and ensuring smooth communication between teams.
The Field Technician works outdoors in rugged desert conditions and must be able to manage physical tasks, data entry, and communications while keeping safety and accuracy as top priorities.
Key ResponsibilitiesDrill Pad & Core Handling
Receive and document drill core directly from drill crews.
Measure and record core recovery accurately.
Transport core boxes safely from drill pad to core shed.
Logistics & Material Handling
Pick up and deliver drill materials, fuel, water, and supplies.
Support shipping/receiving of drill materials and consumables.
Stage, maintain, and monitor wells, fuel stations, and laydown areas.
Site Maintenance & Support
Stake drill pads and mark boundaries.
Collect disturbance data and support environmental compliance.
Maintain drill sites, access roads, and laydown areas (trash pickup, basic repairs).
Operate hand tools and assist with small maintenance tasks.
Data & Communication
Enter recovery data, core tracking, and supply logs accurately.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and teams via radio, Whats App, and email
.Report site updates, discrepancies, or safety concerns clearly and promptly.
Safety & Teamwork
Follow MSHA/OSHA safety standards and site-specific safety policies.
Use PPE correctly and promote safe practices.
Work independently and within a team to achieve project goals.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license (ability to drive a 4x4 pickup strongly preferred).
Physically fit: able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, and work long hours outdoors.
Comfortable working in extreme desert conditions (heat, dust, terrain).
Strong work ethic:
self-motivated, eager to learn, dependable
.Ability to perform accurate data entry and follow instructions.
Strong communication skills over radio, phone, and email/Whats App.
Preferred Skills/Experience
Experience in drilling, mining, construction, or field labor.
Mechanical aptitude (basic troubleshooting of site equipment).
Familiarity with staking, GPS, or pad preparation.
Environmental or site compliance support (trash cleanup, disturbance collection).
Forklift, water truck, or light equipment operation.
OSHA/MSHA training or willingness to complete.
Typical shifts: 10 hrs, Wed - Wed, 8 days on, 6 days off (may vary by project).
Competitive hourly wage (DOE).
