- Repair / maintenance shop at the Independence, IA hauling site
- Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment
- Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts
- Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)
- Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles – safety is our number one priority
- Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
- Assist senior mechanics in the completion of project work
- Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate / OSHA standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Over 18 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
- Success in pre‑employment drug screen and physical examination

- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing

- Exposure to environmental conditions including dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes, or similar elements often
- Work in both indoor garage/shop and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity
