2nd Shift Forklift Operator

General Summary

Puts away or removes freight from the Receiving dock and replenishes the Bulk and Repack pick slots and reserve slots to maintain a consistent workflow and service the store in a safe, timely, and cost‑effective manner using Radio Frequency (RF) devices or Personal Data Assistant (PDA) units as applicable.

• Completes the daily PIT checklist, ensuring equipment is working properly and reporting any defects to management or maintenance.
• Operates PIT equipment safely and achieves set productivity standards on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Transports labeled freight from the dock to its assigned location for storage or shipment and logs activity to track productivity.
• Replenishes modules with correct freight that is free of damage, maintains quality standards, and removes empty pallets from pallet return slots to adhere to housekeeping and safety standards.
• Places freight staged on the floor in the correct slot location, scans pallet licenses, and reports discrepancies (e.g., wrong slot, overflow, missing license number) to maintain inventory standards.
• Alerts management of damaged racks, pallets, freight, or spills and follows safety procedures and guidelines to maximize personal safety.
• Maintains an organized work area and promotes a safe working environment within the Forklift department, following all company policies and procedures.

• Education: None
• Experience: Three to six months operating Powered Industrial Trucks preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Able to perform essential functions including lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing, occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, and operating PIT equipment up to 50 feet high. PPE required.
• Working Conditions: Non‑climate controlled Distribution or Warehouse environment; exposure to weather variations, restricted spaces, fumes, and airborne particles.
• Availability: Shift work with willingness to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
