Position:
Housekeeper — Pleasantview-Nursing Facility, Kalona, IA. Part-time or full-time. You will be part of the Pleasantview team with a focus on enhancing resident experience.
Schedule:

- EDUCATION & CREDENTIALS:
Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and oral instructions in English. High school education or GED preferred but not required. Not a debarred provider. - REGULATORY COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must report any arrest, charge, or conviction of a crime other than a traffic violation and any agency investigation notices within 48 hours; may not perform services pending such report. Must understand resident care and rights and comply with requirements at all times. If a dependent adult abuse is suspected, report to the Administrator within 24 hours. - During employment, report information that may impact patient/resident care, including HIPAA violations, to supervisor or Executive Director.

EDUCATION:
Complete annual 12-hour inservice training programs. Failure to complete may result in termination. - WORK EXPERIENCE:
Previous similar work experience is preferred but not required. On-the-job training provided.
Job Summary
Housekeepers are responsible for housekeeping and cleaning functions in resident care areas and facility common areas. Work is routine and as-needed to address staffing shortages or immediate cleaning needs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Support Pleasantview's Core Values, Culture, Mission and Vision.
- Meet standards and procedures for the housekeeping staff in accordance with institutional policies.
- Assess facility condition; recommend repairs or adjustments to improve sanitation, appearance and efficiency; report unsafe conditions.
- Provide cleaning services and operate cleaning equipment properly.
- Maintain facility to appropriate levels; follow infection control procedures.
- Interact with residents as needed; attend meetings and trainings as required.
- Commit to compliance with facility rules and policies.
- Perform other duties as required. This description is not exhaustive; duties may change with notice.
- Lifting: up to 20 lbs frequently; 20-35 lbs occasionally; up to 40+ lbs rarely. Push/pull up to 40 lbs. Machinery may cause vibrations.
- Carrying: up to 20 lbs frequently; up to 50 lbs occasionally; rarely more than 50 lbs.
- Safety: comply with safety policies and use assistive devices as required.
- Sight/Hearing/Socialization: vision and hearing requirements; strong communication and social interaction around residents, families and staff.
- Other Physical: ability to reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch; stand for extended periods; may climb a stepladder.
- Exposure to general resident care environment and varying resident behaviors; exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment; noise levels; variable hours may be required.
