East Marshall CSD is seeking a Custodian. The position operates 12 pm to 6 pm at the Elementary Building in Laurel, and an additional 2 hours from 6 pm to 8 pm as needed at the Gilman School Building. Mileage will be paid for travel. The role requires a minimum of 30 hours and a maximum of 40 hours per week, for a 12‑month term. Benefits are provided according to board policy.

• Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs)
• Experience with cleaning and organizing preferred
• Dependable, self‑directed, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Good housekeeping habits, as the custodian handles thousands of dollars’ worth of property and ensures health and safety of occupants

• Daily cleaning of classrooms, hallways, office areas, restrooms, and locker rooms – mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, wet mopping spills, disinfecting surfaces, replenishing paper goods, dust and wet mopping.
• Cleaning of horizontal, desk, locker, and wall surfaces as needed; during summer, deep cleaning of furnishings, walls, light fixtures, floor, windows, and drapes, and performing repairs, remodels, or restoration.
• Ensure all lights are off, windows shut and locked, boiler set to run overnight, and doors locked.
• Maintain equipment in good repair and report malfunctions to the head custodian; learn building shutdown procedures for electricity, water, and boiler.
• Assist with snow removal and grounds keeping.
• Collaborate with custodians from other buildings when requested.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the head custodian or administrator.
• Complete AEA trainings as prescribed by the District.
