Description: Custodian Night - Bus Driver – Beatty Elementary/Middle School (K‑8), Beatty, Nevada. 10.0 hours per day, 4 days per week, 12 months per year.

Funding Source: General Fund
Salary Range: $18.68 to $21.35 per hour

• Follow district procedures and training to ensure facility cleanliness, including floor care, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming.
• Shampoo carpets, perform periodic spot cleaning, deep cleaning, and stripping, waxing, sealing, and buffing of various surfaces (VCT, HVT, tile, concrete, wood, carpet).
• Clean, disinfect, and polish plumbing fixtures (faucets, sinks, bathtubs, showers, drinking fountains, toilets) and remove spots and graffiti from floors, walls, woodwork, furniture, carpets, and fixtures.
• Maintain and organize storage and equipment areas; perform basic cleaning and sanitizing of furniture, walls, windows, electronics, high‑touch areas, counters, and lighting.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment safely, submit work orders as needed, and ensure cleaning agents are used per label instructions and safety precautions.
• Collaborate on ordering supplies and coordinating maintenance repairs with the day custodian; assist district Maintenance, Operations, Safety, and Security (MOSS) as required.
• Coordinate with administration regarding the use of school facilities for various activities; conduct light maintenance and repairs (ceiling tile replacement, light bulb replacement, landscaping, furniture repairs).
• Ensure all health and safety precautions are observed to maintain safety of students, employees, custodians, and visitors.
• Follow NCSD single‑point entry protocol; perform security checks of interior and exterior of the facility, ensuring doors, gates, and buildings are secured at the end of the day.
• Manage transportation duties: obey traffic laws, enforce bus safety rules, maintain student discipline on the bus, keep the bus clean, follow route and schedule, report accidents, and perform pre‑trip and post‑trip safety inspections.
• Transport authorized students and district employees; exercise responsible leadership on out‑of‑district trips.
• Perform any other related duties and functions as assigned.

Education, Training, and

Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current physical examination as required by CDL
• Completion of District/State training course

Licenses and

Certifications:

• Valid Nevada Commercial Driver License with Passenger & School Bus endorsements

Screening and Compliance:

• Ability to pass State and Federal criminal background check
• Compliance with NCSD Motor Carrier Part 382 Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Program
• Successful completion of a thorough background check and mandatory pre‑employment drug & alcohol testing
